Educational app about 2 satellites that monitor extreme weather and provide data for the daily forecast. The app experience includes onboarding, and series of 6 missions, with 2 that utilize augmented reality (AR). 2 modes allow you to play at home, or on-site at the NASA Goddard Visitor Center, where you search printed markers to activate the individual missions. The challenges include an interactive journey into space where you’ll see the satellites orbiting Earth and view all of their instruments up close; how the satellite instruments work, how they transmit data from space to a system of ground stations on Earth and end up in your weather forecast; the electromagnetic spectrum and how the satellites see; and explore powerful weather events and dazzling weather phenomena that they observe across our planet.
My role: I designed the user experience, interface, and worked with development team on implemention, and QA testing for both iOS and Android.
