Branding

AMIA (the American Medical Informatics Association) is a professional scientific association with over 5,400 members of professionals and students in healthcare, science, and bioinformatics. In addition to providing education and networking services for their members, AMIA hosts meetings and conferences for each of their informatics disciplines.

Challenge: Initially we were asked to design for one conference program book. The high-level design and layout garnered such positive feedback, I was asked to design all 5 conferences for each year, and to develop a brand for each discipline as well as the association’s main brand. After 5 years and 25 conferences later, I was the lead consult for their visual rebrand and implementation.

My role: I worked directly with the Director of Marketing and Communications, as well as other departments to solely consult and produce their deliverables.

Deliverables: Print books, brochures, mailers, web graphics, exhibit booth design, web app screens, logos and brand for several initiatives and user interface for an online application.
